Actor Musician Writer

Hi and thanks for your interest in my site! My name is Lowri and I am a recent graduate from the BA Acting (Acting) course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Before that, I studied French, Spanish and English at Cambridge – during which time I also managed to act in 35 shows (much to the detriment of my body clock!). This included Footlights pantos and Smokers, ADC plays and musicals, two tours of Europe with the European Theatre Group and two trips to the Edinburgh Fringe (one year sporting a four foot beard, the next, a unitard – I’m not sure which was more amusing to the casual onlooker).

Anyway, after the intensity of the past few years, I now find myself out in the profession and raring to go.

So, what have I been up to? Well, I left Central early to perform in Secret Cinema’s Brazil and then went on to act in Secret Music presents Laura Marling. At the same time, I also wrote and performed my One Woman Comedy Show, Those Who Can’t…LEARN!.  After a highly successful run at the Miller and a transfer to the Canal Café Theatre, I took the show to the Edinburgh Fringe. Despite the challenges inherent in being a one-man-band in the sea of performers, I got great audiences and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Thanks to my Welsh roots, I was also pleased to be asked back to play the young female roles in the Live Radio Company’s production of Under Milk Wood at the Harwich Festival. With it being the Dylan Thomas Centenary Dylan Thomas this year, let’s hope more Welsh opportunities are around the corner.

Most recently, I performed in News Revue, the longest running comedy sketch show in the world. Changing the show weekly according to the news was amazing fun!

I am also currently writing a new One Woman Show called ‘Words, words, words’ which, through a combination of Shakespeare monologues, dances, violin music and singing, explores the incapacity of words to fully express emotion.

If you’re interested in finding out how that is going, or about any recent productions, please feel free to follow my adventures on my blog!
